This is a unique opportunity for a motivated detail oriented person that excels in a highly collaborative, results driven environment. This role is within Trane’s Digital Solutions organization, which has a very unique feel of a startup but also the understanding of how to scale to large production environments.

This role is responsible working with the business and technical leaders to uncover trends and insights from data acquired from many different data sources. By understanding our customers, business, products and vision you will creating visualizations and insights for collaboration with stakeholders to drive results. The ability to research data sources, access and clean data and work with a verity of data visualization and insight tools.

What you will do (Essential functions)

•Actively investigate and gain domain knowledge to understand customer, business and technical ecosystem

•Research data sources required for creating data visualizations and normalizations

•Access data sources by getting access directly (i.e. SQL) or via indirect methods

•Data cleansing, normalization, validation and gap filling

•Create data visualizations and insights to collaboration with the team

•Participate in interoperation of data, visualizations and insights through written or oral communications

•Create reports / visualizations on scheduled and ad hoc requests

Qualifications:

Education / Experience

•Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline to include but not limited to: Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Systems, and Analytics.

•5 years of experience in cleansing, blending, analyzing, and visualizing data for decision support purposes

•Ability to explain technical information to non-technical individuals.

•Strong business acumen, statistical analysis, analytical, problem solving, data management, and partnership skills.

•Collaborative team player with process improvement mind set.

•Expert level proficiency in MS Excel, Access, SQL (i.e., pivot tables, macros, charts, creating queries, and downloading data from existing queries.)

Communications / Language skills

•Ability to communicate effectively in English with others in person, by phone, in writing, and through collaboration software

•Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and larger group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

•Must be achievement-oriented

•Must be comfortable working in a team environment that is dynamic and evolving

Travel

•Ability to travel independently (<5% travel required)

Nice to Have:

•Excel Macro and VBA development a plus.

•Preferred experience with and preparing data for Tableau (or equivalent data visualization tool: Qlikview, Oracle BI, Microsoft BI).

•Experience with Alteryx or equivalent data blending program.

•HVAC Building industry, facilities management, HVAC equipment, or BAS knowledge
